Snow in May
We are still waiting to see if we get the house. We put in an offer and now are just waiting for the seller's bank to ok it. It is a short sale which basically meant the sellers are behind on their payments and are selling as quickly as possible. I am glad we started looking early so it will be bought and ready for us when we move in August.
So if any of you don't know I am a fan of American Idol this season. And my favorite singer is Jason Casto. I love his voice and most of the songs he sings. The dreads took a bit to get used too and now I couldn't imagine him without them. One of the things I like about him is his personality. He is shy just like David Archeleta which I like more. I think the finale will be between he two Davids. They both are amazing singers. I of course have for the first time voted and now it is all for Jason. It is kind of fun. I have even discovered i-tunes. So I have some great songs now to listen too when I am on the computer.
Billy has discovered the art to peeing while standing. Well almost. He just started and still gets his pants a little but it is cute to see him standing on a stool and sticking his stomach out to aim. I laughed tonight while watching him. He is such a cute boy! Today Ty and I went and got the oil changed in our cars for our California trip next week. Katie is having a sleepover with Alexis. They are best friends and spend almost all of the time together. Okay, now I think I am all caught up. I will try to be better at writing more often. I am so grateful for my family. I heard on the news yesterday about a mom who forgot her toddler was asleep in the car when she got done unloading the groceries and her died. How awful would that be. It makes me realize that I need to pay more attention to my kids and be alert. They rely so much on us and it is a huge responsibility! I hope I can be the best mom possible. I know I am not perfect but I can be better!
Tyler and Brittney's Wedding
Weddings are wonderful! Tyler and Brittney were married this weekend ( April 19th). They were married at Todd's parents, Len and Ruby's back yard. The weather was a little windly but it was sunny and warm. All of Todd's sibling were there (except Todd of course) which was so much fun. Katie followed Trevor arround. I don't know if she remembered him from Vriginia or not. He is a boy and there aren't many boys usually around so the kids tend to flock towards them when they are. Travis got out Todd's jeep and took it up into the hills. Billy was really excited about getting to finally ride it after it had sat covered all winter (Todd kept incouraging mr to get it out but I was too lazy and don't like the cold). But as soon as Billy realized that there was a four wheeler going on the expedition he wanted to ride on it so he road with Tabitha. The second day the brakes started going out and Trudy almost got is airborne while coming down firecracker. We got it on video.
The wedding was very fun and romantic. Billy was the ring boy (as there are only 3 boy nephews, one is 8 and the other is johnny). I did Brittney's hair. It has been awhile since I have done anyones hair and it was fun. Tyler and Brittney didn't want a line but ended up having to have one, which we took full pleasure in going through. They did a good job at getting cake in each others faces. The best I have seen so far. That night we had sun hanging out with family. We played some pinochle and went in the hot tub. Sunday we had to say goodbye to all the family that had to leave for home. I am happy to know we will see them all this summer for the family reunion.
PS I got a new hair cut with hightlights. I like having the bangs:) Oh and I am still trying to figure the picture thing out so that is why they are in crazy places.

Vegas
Typhena and I took a trip to Las Vegas to see Trudy (my sister-in-law) play soccar. We went on a busy week but happened to find a room at the Sahara. We arrived in the evening and after dinner we took a walk along the strip. If any of you have been there you would probably know that the Sahara is at one end of the strip so we wended up walking a long ways. The kids got to see the pirate ship at Treasure Island. They thought it was pretty cool. It was already 10pm and Todd's parents were there working one of the conventions so they had a friend they know pick us up in a small bus and take us back to the hotel. It was sure nice!
Saturday we went to watch Trudy play and spent the afternnon at the soccar fields. The kids got to run around and had fun. Len and Ruby met us and we went to dinner with Trudy and Lee. We went to the Silverton Casino to a buffet there. In the casino they have a huge fish tank (from floor to ceiling with a real mermaid! They were facinated by her. She swan down and waved to them and blew kisses. It was really cute to watch. After we left Katie came to me with a smile on her face and said, "I've never seen a real live mermaid before".
The next day we went and saw Trudy play her last game. In the afternoon we took the kids swimming in the Sahara pool. Katie can swim by herself with a life jacket. Billy is still causious and stays by the edge. Johnny thinks the water is the best thing ever. So they all had fun. In the evening Ruby came over to watch the kids while we went out with Trudy and Lee to a club. We had a fun evening. We went to the club at the top pf the Rio and it overlooked the whole city. It was beautiful. The next day we drove home. We had a fun little trip. This weekend it Tyler's wedding so we will be busy getting ready for it. Family is such a great thing! PS-this post is a little late. We went the weekend of the 11th-14th.

About Us
Hello! I have finally given in and started a blog after my sister encouraged me to do it. I don't have much free time with my three kids, three classes, and fun extended family around but I will try to post as often as I can. Todd and I have three kids so far. Katie is our oldest and she just turned 5. She is my big helper while Todd is in Iraq. She goes to preschool right now and is so ready for kindergarten. I think she is a lot like me. Smart (will love school), bossy, opinionated, and helpful. She loves to help others. What they say about red heads is true. She has all the characteristics. She loves to play video games, draw pictures for Daddy, and to play polly pockets. I sure love her. Her cousin Alexis is her best friend and lives right next door so they see each other every day.
Billy is 2 and will be three in a couple of months. What to say about Billy...He is my sensitive child. He loves cars!!!!!!!! He will spend hours lining then up and playing with them. His new favorite thing to do is the build roads and castles with blocks. He likes to be by himself but has stated to play a little with Katie. He will pick on her just to get a reaction out of her. He takes after his dad. He loves going for jeep rides, hiking, and being outside. He would play outside all day if I would let him. Lately he hasn't slept well. He usually wakes up at least once a night if not more. Not sure why, I have tried many different things to help but they haven't helped. He may just be a light sleeper. He loves to snuggle and I admit I like it too. He is now fully potty trained and I am happy with that. I can even take him out in underwear. This last week he will even go potty right when he wakes up and his diaper is dry. I think his temperament has helped him with this. He likes things to be how they are suppose to be. If the blocks go in a certain bin then that is the bin they have to be put back in. You can't put them in a different one. He doesn't like change so have to prepare him if something different is going to happen. Then he is usually ok. He is teaching me to be more structured.
Johnny is my happy go lucky child. He hasn't stopped smiling since the day he learned how. I think he looks like a little man. He is as skinny as can be and I can't keep pants on him. They slide right off. He recently started walking and loves to walk around the house now. He finally got attached to his blankets. I took his pacifier away at 6 months and regretted it a few months later when I couldn't get him to go to sleep. I bought every possible shape and size pacifier there was trying to get him to take one with no luck. But now he will walk around with his blanket in his hands. It is cute. I bought a second blanket almost exactly like his first one so I can wash one as still have one for him. He is down to one nap a day and sleeps all night. I have yet to get him to say Mama but am still working on it. His favorite person is Grandpa (he hasn't seen Todd since his visit in November). If grandpa is in the room he is the person he will go to. He is at such a fun stage!
Todd is currently in Iraq. He left for training last May and in August headed to Iraq. He is on a MTT team that helps train an Iraqi unit. He has had some good stories about getting vehicles stuck in the mud and helping the casualties that come in before they get transported to a hospital. He liked feeling like he is helping. We are finally starting to count down the days till he gets home in August. We chat on instant message almost daily and the kids get to talk to him on the phone about once a week. We all sure miss him but I know he is doing his job and hopefully helping as much as he can.
I am currently having a great time living by Todd's family. They are great and have made this deployment much more easily. Typhena has recently finished her house right next door so we see each other every day. I Cook twice a week, she cooks twice, Len (grandpa) and Ruby (grandma) cook Sunday dinners, and we go out twice a week. It is a very nice sett up and helpful because it is hard to cook for mmyself and three small kids. I am taking three classes. One at the local collage and two independent study. I am almost done with two of them. It is pretty hard to keep motivated for the independent study classes but I want to graduate. It means a lot to me to get my degree. My kids keep me busy but I wouldn't change that. They are my life and I feel so blesses to have them. Sometimes I get overwhelmed at the thought that they rely on Todd and me to teach them what they need to know and to help provide for all their needs. It is a huge responsibility and I hope I can be the best mom possible. It isn't easy and it is hard to be patient sometimes. We just got back from a house hunting trip at Todd's next duty station and have put in an offer. We are now just waiting for the seller's bank to ok the sale and we will have it. It is a pretty exciting thing. If we get the house I will tell more about it.
So that is a little information about our family. We are so blessed to have Katie Billy, and Johnny.
