We went to the zoo again as a family. We have a year pass so we have been able to go throughout the year. The kids love it and I like it because we don't have to rush to see everything. We can stay just a couple of hours if we want or longer. We spent a while with the birds and the kids got to help feed them. They liked it. Ellie liked it too. She would hold her stick out for the birds to get. Ellie loves animals and so she is cute at the zoo because she gets so excited seeing the animals. It was fun to watch the kids. After the zoo we went to the Battalion Commanders house for a party. I enjoy getting together with others and like parties! Todd doesn't but he has been a good sport at all the dinners and parties we have gone too this past year:)
We finally got a new family picture. It is the best we will get for a while. Our kids make it hard to get a good picture of everyone. I love my family!

July-Jeep Ride
We got one last jeep ride in before Todd has to leave for Afghanistan. The kids has a blast. We only got stuck once and then after that the jeep kept overheating so it kept stalling. Todd had to climb under the jeep to start it so i had to start it in the jeep and then get it going. I am so not comfortable driving his jeep. I had to make sure it would not die so I had to keep it going. The first time i flew forward and then accidentally put it in reverse and almost went down the rocks we had just came up. The kids wanted out of the jeep after that and I don't blame them. I wanted out too. It took about 5 more times of starting the jeep this way while finishing the trail. It was a short trail but had some good rocks to climb. Billy loves riding in the jeep. Katie likes it too but doesn't get as excited as Billy. Johnny is deathly afraid of the jeep. He cries when he gets in and ends up walking if he can.
I am still having problems downliading pics so will try to add them later:(

Manti Here We Come
Thursday and Friday Todd and Travis climbed Longs Peak and I stayed home picking up and packing for Manti. We left on Saturday and made it for the fireworks. Ellie liked them and it was fun to watch her. The kids had fun too. We have a tradition for fireworks we have done for the last four years. We sit on the Manti tempe hill and watch them. It is fun having traditions.
We had a great week in Manti. All the family met here in Manti so it was like an extended family reunion. We went to the cabin and for a drive on Tuesday. we had dinner while we were at the cabin and ate Smores. It was fun getting to ride my four wheeler again. I really like it! The kids and adults got to go shooting and Todd and some of the kids went jeeping with Jeremy on Hanging tree. Jeremy rolled his jeep but all were OK. They also went for another jeep ride later in the week and Todd had fun because it had harder obstacles.
Wednesday the boys watched the kids so we could have a girls day shopping in Provo. It is fun hanging out with the girls. Tabitha couldn't go and it would have been more fun with her! We ate at Olive garden and shopped at the mall, Savers, and DI. Thanks dads!
Some of the other things we did this week was shooting, swimming, going in the hot tub, watching movies, and playing pinochle. Today Todd and I took the kids to the pool again. The dads took them on the day we went shopping but someone threw up so they had to close it and refunded the tickets so we went back today. We had fun. They have a slide now and all the kids went down at least once except for Ellie of course. I even went. It is a very nice pool. Now we are getting ready to go see Todd, Jeremy and Tabitha race their tough trucks. It should be fun!

Our First Backpacking Trip
I have always wanted to go on a backpacking trip but we have always had young kids. When we were planning the reunion Travis said we should go backpacking too so he planned it. He found a good trail for us to go on. We decided to make it three days instead of two. My Mom said she would watch Ellie so we could go. It was a lot of fun. The only thing that would have made it better was if we could have had a campfire.
We drove to the start of the trail and loaded all of the bags and people onto Todd's jeep. We had 19 people and all the packs on it at once. I will add a picture when I get a chance. We had four miles to drive to get to the start of the hike so we were glad it was open. It opened that day for the first time. We hiked in about three and a half miles and set up camp. The next day we hiked up to a lake and glacier. Todd and Tavis climbed three quarters of the way up but couldn't go anymore. We had a good lunch by the lake while the kids played on the rocks in the lake.
The third day we packed up camp and headed back down. It took a lot less time to get back down. On the way up and down we had to cross a very cold river. I don't think I have ever felt water so cold. Even Travis says it was the coldest river he has crossed. Travis and Todd even made several trips to carry kids and packs across and I am very grateful they did because I would not have been able too. I froze halfway on my first time and Todd came so I could hold his hand the rest of the way. It had a pretty strong current and I was scared. One the return trip across I made it almost all the way and Todd was there so I could hold his hand the rest of the way.I didn't want him to have to come across one more time because it was so cold so I tried to make it. He is great! I am a very lucky woman to have him!
We made pretty good timing so that we could make it to Eclipes. It opened up that day and we reserved tickets to go and see it and Grandma and Grandpa babysat for us. The movie was great. I liked it!

Reunion Day Three
Some of the boys went on another jeeping trail while the rest of us went to the hot springs. We wanted a day of relaxing. The nice thing about the pool is that is was nice an warm. Even Ellie stayed in the pool most of the time. I had fun with Katie. We both put on goggles and played under the water. Katie even practiced swimming. She is timid when it comes to water so it was fun seeing her let go alittle and try more things. I showed her how she could float. It was fun. We planned on stopping for Mexican food on our way home so I did some research and found a place on the internet that had good ratings and was more like El Azteca our favorite resturaunt in Utah. It was very similar. The food was pretty good. Not as good as El Azteca but pretty good. Todd got this burrito that was 11$ and it was huge. It took up two plates. He couldn't finish it so we had left overs the next day.
Sunday we rested and packed for the backpacking trip and Tyler and Brittany flew back home.

Family Reunion Day Two
We went up Mt. Antero today. It was a longer trail and a little scarier. We made it close to the top where we were able to look for crystals. My jeep broke again today so the jeep was full of people and we were doubled up on the four wheelers. I am glad that I was on my four wheeler otherwise I would have had to walk it as I am afraid of heights. On our way back down it started to rain and we were pretty wet by the time we got back to camp. Our camp also was wet so the boys started a fire and we dried off our chairs so we had someplace to sit. It was Todd and my turn for the meal so we brought two cases of MRE's and everyone got to pick their meals. It was fun! We traded extra food with each other and even the kids ate because they were able to pick something they liked. Then we made Smores for dessert. I love Todd's Family!

Family Reunion Day One
Our family reunion was June 23 to June 26th. We went camping by St. Elmo and had some fun day trips. Everyone brought their toys. I brought my new four wheeler, Todd brought his jeep and my jeep, Ty and Jesse brought their four wheelers and motorcycles, and Len and Ruby brought their four wheeler. Here are the people who were able to make it. Len, Ruby, Travis, Jen, Sierra, Forrest, Caroline, Sunny, Typhena, Jesse, Alexis, Lacie, Tabitha, Tyler, and Brittany.
Day One we took Tin Cup Pass. The trail we wanted to take was washed out. Unfortunatly it didn't go all the way to Tin Cup because the road still was blocked by snow. It was a pretty mild trail and the weather was great until the end. There was a mud puddle with a step up that we had to drive up. All the motorcycles passed it and Tabitha and I made it up. It took me three tries to get up as I got stuck. Then Tabitha and I watched as Grandma and Caroline go up. Unfortunatly they came at it too fast and they flipped backwards. The four wheeler landed on them. Grandma tried pushing Caroline off while it was flipping over and got her to the side enough so she got out. Grandma was stuck under it but Tabitha was able to lift it enough for her to get out while I road to get the guys. It was scary but they were ok. Just very muddy and a little shook up.
